Energy Audits

We offer our clients two choices for home energy audits. The first and most economical is the basic audit which is typically a visual inspection of things such as insulation, appliances, windows and the HVAC system. Even though it’s more of an assessment of the types of products used in the home as opposed to how well they are performing, plenty of valuable information can be obtained from this type of audit.

The second, more thorough type is the comprehensive audit which involves the use of diagnostic equipment such as blower door testers and air duct blasters. These tools measure air infiltration in the home and identify air leaks in the duct work. Infrared cameras are also used to determine if there are any insulation or moisture problems within the homes building enclosure. This tool can be particularly valuable in identifying problem areas because it allows us to literally see behind your walls and ceilings with thermographic images. Another benefit of the comprehensive audit is that it allows us to re-test after the improvements have been made to make sure they’re successful.
