The National Green Building Program (NAHBGreen) helps builders and remodelers design, construct & certify buildings to the National Green Building Standard, the nation’s only residential green building rating system to undergo the full consensus process and receive approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). It’s the most comprehensive, standardized and easy to use program to date.

The most successful regional Green Building Program to take root in Virginia and our first experience with Green Building. Started in Atlanta, GA the program is Builder and owner friendly and is sponsored by several governmental sponsors including Energy Star.

 

USGBC Regreen programReGreen Program
Published by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation, the guidelines address the major elements of any green renovation project, including the site of the home, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, material and resources and indoor environmental quality.

 

DOE builders challengeBuilder’s Challenge
A program of U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technology, the Builder’s Challenge is based on HERS ratings – a projected and verified standard for energy efficiency.  The Challenge requires that homes achieve a score of HERS 70 or below.

 

Energy Star PartnerENERGY STAR Qualified New Homes
A program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, this program provides guidelines to build homes that are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. Our homes are built to these standards and regularly score HERS 20 or below.
