Department of Energy

EIA offers official energy statistics from the U.S. Government in formats of your choice, by geography, by fuel, by sector, or by price; or by specific subject areas like process, environment, forecasts, or analysis. This website also contains discussions of energy efficiency issues such as definitions, measurement, and the connection of energy to greenhouse gas emissions.

Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE)
EERE's mission is to pursue a better energy future where energy is clean, abundant, reliable, and affordable. EERE's programs conduct activities in partnership with the private sector, state and local government. Also included at this site is an "Energy Information Portal", a gateway to hundreds of websites and thousands of online documents on energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Building Technologies Program
EERE's Building Technologies Program works to improve the energy efficiency of our nation's buildings through innovative new technologies and better building practices.

Geothermal Technologies Program
EERE's Geothermal Technologies Program works in partnership with U.S. industry to establish geothermal energy as an economically competitive contributor to the U.S. energy supply.

Solar Energy Technologies Program
EERE's Solar Energy Technologies Program leads the effort to research, develop, and deploy cost-effective technologies toward growing the use of solar energy throughout our nation and the world. We work closely with national laboratories, universities, industry, professional associations, and other programs at the Department of Energy and with federal, state, and local agencies across the nation.

Weatherization & Intergovernmental Program
Through its numerous programs, EERE's Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program delivers targeted solutions designed to increase energy efficiency in buildings, transportation, industry, and communities by providing information and technical and financial resources. It also facilitates the development and commercialization of innovative energy-efficient technologies and fosters the development and adoption of building energy codes at the state level.

Wind and Hydropower Technologies Program
EERE's Wind and Hydropower Technologies Program is leading the Nation's efforts to improve wind energy technology so that it can generate competitive electricity in areas with lower wind resources, and to develop new, cost-effective, advanced hydropower technologies that will have enhanced environmental performance and greater energy efficiencies.
